Terms for doctors
Last changed 28 October 2026
Agreement
These Terms for Doctors form an agreement between you, as a medical practitioner using Docpen for your practice, and Docpen.
They apply to your Docpen workspace, chambers, and staff, and should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
By registering for or continuing to use Docpen, you agree to these terms.
Who Can Register?
To register as a doctor on Docpen, you must be a medical practitioner registered with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and provide accurate information.
We verify your BMDC registration before allowing you to sign prescriptions, publish your public profile, or accept online bookings.
If any information provided is found to be incorrect or misleading, we may withdraw your verification.
Clinical Use and Your Professional Responsibility
Docpen is a digital tool designed to help you record patient visits and prepare prescriptions more efficiently.
Its medicine lists, diagnosis templates, dosage suggestions, drug interaction notes, and other clinical resources are provided as supporting tools. They may be incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular patient.
As a doctor using Docpen:
- Review every medicine, dosage, investigation, and instruction against the patient's medical history, examination findings, and current condition before signing a prescription.
- You remain fully responsible for every prescription you sign and every clinical decision you make.
- Docpen does not replace your professional judgment, clinical responsibilities, or accepted medical guidelines.
- If you identify incorrect or outdated information in our medicine lists or templates, do not use it. Please report it to help@docpen.app.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Docpen is not responsible for diagnoses, treatments, prescriptions, or patient outcomes resulting from your clinical decisions.
Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Patient Information and Confidentiality
Patient information must be handled responsibly and kept confidential.
- Record only the information necessary for patient care, with the patient's consent where required by law.
- Docpen stores the records in your workspace and makes them accessible only to you and the staff members you authorise.
- You may view a patient's previous prescriptions written by other Docpen doctors only on the day the patient has a serial with you, and only while the patient has enabled medical history sharing.
- Other doctors' private notes are never visible to you.
- Every access to a patient's shared medical history is recorded, and the patient can see who accessed it and when.
- Use another doctor's prescriptions only for the purpose of providing care to that patient during that visit.
Your Chamber Staff
You are responsible for inviting staff members to your workspace, assigning their chambers and access permissions, and removing them when they leave your practice.
Any activity performed by your staff within your workspace is your responsibility.
Each staff member must accept a confidentiality statement before joining your team.
Your Public Doctor Profile
Once your BMDC verification is complete, your doctor profile may be displayed publicly on Docpen and in search results.
Your profile may include:
- Name and academic degrees.
- Medical specialty.
- Profile photograph.
- Chamber locations.
- Consultation hours.
- Consultation fees.
You decide which information appears on your profile and whether your profile is publicly visible.
Subscription Plans and Payments
Every new doctor account starts with a free trial. You can check the trial period and its end date from the Plan page.
After the trial ends, an active paid plan is required to sign new prescriptions.
Please note:
- Available subscription prices are displayed on the Plan page before payment.
- Payments can be made through bKash or another payment method displayed on the Plan page.
- After making a payment, you must submit the transaction ID for verification.
- Each payment is manually reviewed by Docpen before the subscription plan is activated.
- When your free trial or paid plan expires, your workspace becomes read-only. You can still view and print existing records, but you cannot sign new prescriptions until you renew your plan.
- Each payment covers only the subscription period for which it was made.
If you make a payment by mistake or need help with a payment-related issue, contact help@docpen.app.
SMS Credits
SMS notifications sent to your patients, including booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and prescription links, use your available SMS credits according to each chamber's SMS settings.
Please note:
- SMS messages containing Bangla text consume more credits, as explained on the Plan page.
- Official notices sent by Docpen to patients are free of charge to you.
You can manage your SMS credits and related settings from your Docpen workspace.
Fair and Responsible Use
To maintain a safe and reliable platform for everyone, you must not:
- Issue prescriptions to patients you have not properly assessed.
- Share your account credentials or allow someone else to use your account.
- Sign in or perform activities by pretending to be another doctor.
- Copy, extract, or download Docpen's medicine lists or other platform data in bulk without authorisation.
If an account is found to be involved in misuse or a violation of these terms, Docpen may suspend it. Where possible, we will inform you of the reason for the suspension.
Service Availability and Leaving Docpen
We do our best to keep Docpen available and running smoothly. However, temporary service interruptions or unavailability may occur.
We recommend keeping printed copies of important prescriptions and records whenever your practice requires them.
You can stop using Docpen at any time. You may also request a copy of your workspace records by contacting: help@docpen.app
Prescriptions you have signed are retained as medical records, even if you stop using Docpen.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, features, or requirements.
Whenever these terms change, Docpen will ask you to review and agree to the updated terms before continuing to use the service.
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.
